Who We Are

Yoder Ag Services has its roots in agriculture. For generations, our family has been committed to excellence in growing and producing quality crops.

Our Roots

Fred Yoder, while working on the farm, decided to join Andy Farmwald in 1976 and became a full partner in his DEKALB Seed Dealership in 1980. Upon Andy's passing in 1982, Fred became full owner and operator of the DEKALB dealership, and has been selling seed since then. In the fall of 2010, Fred and son Josh and daughter Sarah started working together and in January 2012, formed Yoder Ag Services to better serve customers' needs as well as offering new products and services in a growing industry.

Fred Yoder has been farming for nearly 40 years in the Plain City area. In the late 1970s he began working with the local DeKalb dealer Andy Farmwald delivering and billing seed corn. He eventually joined Andy as a partner, and upon his passing became full owner and operator of the DeKalb dealership, and has been selling seed now for over 33 years.  Fred farms with his family and raises corn, soybeans, and wheat on about 1500 acres in Madison and Union counties, in addition to the seed business.

Fred served as president of the National Corn Growers Association in 2003. He has visited in many different countries around the world promoting biotechnology and co-existence in cropping systems. He is still very involved in various national groups that are doing strategic planning in preparing how best to feed a hungry world in sustainable ways.

Josh has served in a variety of roles on his family’s farm and ag retail seed dealership since coming back to the farm in 2010. In addition to farming 1,500 acres of corn, soybeans, and wheat with his father, Josh serves as President of Yoder Ag Services, providing agronomic support to customers in the area of seed, precision agriculture, soil health and nutrition management.

Josh has extensive experience in the area of economic and financial analysis.  Josh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Ohio State University, a Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University, and an MBA in Operations from the Fisher College of Business at Ohio State University.

Sarah grew up on the family farm and has always felt that agriculture is a special and meaningful way of life. Starting in late 2007, she starting working with her father with the accounting and administrative aspects of the business and took an interest in learning more about the farming process and how important decisions are made through new products and services in the industry.

Sarah serves as Partner and Vice President of Yoder Ag Services LLC. She handles the accounting and administrative aspects of the seed business, as well as works with ordering and inventory management. Sarah also has experience in keeping farm accounting records.

In addition to her work at Yoder Ag Services, Sarah works full time supporting her family, and works as an Independent Meeting Planner. Sarah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Franklin University.
